I have a 30 year old Ash, 40 feet tall. It was dead on the top 8 feet, it has a "cancer" as Vicente called it. We both agreed the tree is dying, yet we were able to get on the same thought process and get rid of the dead stuff, and save the new growth... in hopes of getting 3-5 more years of life. Its still about 25 feet tall, with lots of new growth. Another company just wanted to chop it down and stump it.
