Ella is so great!! She made me feel comfortable and empowered instantly. I had a bad experiance with a horse before and she helped me overcome my nerves with her humor and genuine love of all her animals, who does not love a chicken guarding turkey? Ella shared some great knowledge and is kind and funny!! The lesson right before mine was for a little girl about 8 and she was totally in tune with what she was doing both on horse back and after riding. I am looking forward to feeling half that together in the barn. You could tell that everyone Ella teaches gets more than just a riding lesson. She is worth way more than the charge, and I immediately set up my next lesson. I highly recommend Ella of corse Charlie (the horse) for lessons no matter what your age!
I started riding lessons two years ago with no prior experience. The past two years training with Tanya has increased my skill level and confidence tremendously. Tanya is a very experienced rider and instructor. She observes my progress, provides clear instruction, and continues to improve my skills. And she makes the whole experience fun! Tanya will also provide the "total horse experience" if that is something you might want. For me this includes grooming my horse before and after riding, saddling and bridling. I now know the basics of horse care and equipment. I highly recommend Tanya for any experience level and age!
Born teacher! Familiar with her through swim lessons and horse back riding lessons. Step by step instruction, knows her student, knows her horse, utilizes multi sensory cues, patient, personable, and gentle. Good communication skills.
Yvonne is a delight to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and just what any beginner horse student needs. I can't recommend her enough. In one lesson, I learned so much from her and signed up to take lessons twice a week. She is so patient and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Ashley did a great job at helping tune-up my young horse when he was coming back into work. She was patient with him and I was very appreciative of all the trail-time she gave him so he could build confidence. Well-done!
I really enjoy the format of my lessons and I have made significant improvement in my overall riding and horse handling abilities.
My daughter is 7 years old and learning English Riding. Linda really empowers her to be an independent rider that is responsible for her horse and her learning. My daughter counts the days until her next lesson.
I have known Stacey for over 12 years now. She trained my daughter who is now 25 for a number of years when she was younger and led her to be 2nd in AZYQHA in the state at 12 years old. I recently in last 3 years have reconnected with her to take lessons and have bought my own horse with her help. She works with me and my horse. I trust her completely with mine and my horse’s training and welfare. She is extremely knowledgeable about all facets of riding, showing, care and breeding. She has a great demeanor as I have found that many trainers are gruff and rough around the edges. She always has a smile and a positive attitude. I recommend that whatever level you are at, she will be great to work with.
Breana is awesome. She works really well with my niece and teaches exactly what we were asking for (and more!) I feel like my niece is getting the full experience of horsemanship and riding, and it's way more than we would have found through any of the busier company-run lessons. We contacted a lot of riding instructors and companies before finding Silver's Riding Lessons and none of them were willing to offer what we wanted my niece to learn. Breana listened to what we wanted and worked out a lesson plan that incorporates exactly what we talked about. On top of that, her technique incorporates learning to bond with the horse and communicate. It's exactly what we needed.
Four years ago when my daughter, Lindsay, asked me if she could start taking riding lessons, I had no idea where to begin my search for a reliable, confident, and professional trainer so I turned to the place where many parents turn, the internet. We chose Samantha Walker based simply on the fact that her barn was not far from where we lived. It was quite clear after about of month of lessons that Samantha was the perfect fit for Lindsay. Samantha is patient and kind in her instruction yet direct and effective in her technique. It was not long after we discovered Samantha that she told us she would be moving to a different barn. Her move would add about 20 minutes onto our drive, which we had no problem with because of the connection Lindsay had made with Samantha over a very short period of time. So much for finding a trainer based on location☺ Four years later, Lindsay takes lessons twice a week and leases one of Samanthas horses. Not too long ago, Lindsay competed in her first show and did very well. Over the summer, Lindsays grandparents took her to a resort in Tucson that offers summer riding programs for children. The instructors at the resort commented to Lindsays grandparents on how well she rides and even said she was one of the best riders they had ever seen in their program. We look forward to many more years with Samantha!
Louise works with each horse and rider according to individual abilities and readiness to progress to the next level. Using classic dressage fundamentals, she transformed my cranky, resistant horse into a willing partner who actually was proud of himself when he did well. Through yoga techniques, both on the ground and in the saddle, I became more aware of how my movements could either hinder or support my horses fluidity. And together we became a team.
I have trained in dressage with Jenny for over a year now. She provides excellent, detailed riding lessons and explains what needs to be accomplished to move forward in your training. I have ridden with many trainers over the past 20 years and she is one of the best. Most importantly, she cares about the horses and their well being.
I was always a bit timid about being around horses, but being an animal enthusiast, I was determined to learn more about them. Fortunately, I met Cassandra with South Mountain School of Horsemanship. Together, we discussed my goals and set out a plan of attack to achieve them. Each time I showed up, she had an individualized lesson plan ready for me based upon my progress, and sometimes gave me some fun homework assignments to prepare me for next time. The no pressure environment makes for a great learning experience. She is kind, light-hearted, and an excellent communicator. Working with Cassandra, you immediately know you are being taught by the best. She worked with me patiently, teaching me how to predict a horses every behavior based upon their natural instincts, which lessened my anxiety with every visit. She taught me how to become the horses leader, allowing for a relationship based upon mutual respect. Her efforts have made me extremely comfortable both on and around them, and my riding ability has skyrocketed. I cant believe the strides Ive made in such a short period of time! Im even beginning to learn to jump! I cant wait to see what she teaches me next
I can't say enough good things about Meagan! I am a total beginner and she has been very patient in explaining everything from tack and grooming questions to proper body positions for both me and the horse. She promotes safety first - for the rider and horse. Love taking lessons with her!
After submitting a request for an instructor. I recieved a responce from McDaniel Performance Horses in a timely manner and it was very clear about my options regarding the lessons. Before my first lesson the instructor was keen on understanding my goals and explaining the different processes that we can approach to achieve them. The lesson felt designed specificely based on my experience and my level of progress. If I mastered a lesson we go to the next one and if she felt I'm struggling with something she'd try to focus on it until I master it. This method of instructing seemed to be encouraging and grasped my intrest toward the lesson. I felt it kept me focused throughout the lesson rather than being distracted by my frustration, which made me feel less nervous and gain more self confidence. I've learned a lot from the lessons and witnessed my progress and I have no doubt I'll reach my goals in no time.
