About this pro

How does your business stand out?

I limit my case load in order to keep my practice small and manageable. I personally handle all cases exclusively and answer my own phone (you will never be charged for paralegal services). I have a nearly 100% success rate with ADR settlement negotiations in family law matters; I have litigated over thirty felony jury trials (including DUI, white collar and homicide) and multiple complex and high conflict family law cases that also involve a criminal component. My skills and experiences in both criminal defense and prosecution have proven invaluable assets in family law litigation as well.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I love helping clients achieve resolution and relief; I am particularly gifted at negotiation and enjoy the challenge of reducing complex litigation to particular salient points.

I have met with Kerrie. I was hesitant going through an on-line referral, but she was delightful and I liked her advice and reassurance. I will update this as things continue.

Kerrie was professional and thorough through out my divorce process. She gave me the confidence and support I needed to make good-sound decisions that would affect my new life. I would recommend her to anybody that needs an excellent attorney.

Kerrie Droban is one lady in my life I will never forget. She was there for me at one of the worst times in my life. My divorce was ugly and nasty, to say the very least. Kerrie kept me grounded and focused at times when I was so emotionally and physically drained, and when I felt I just couldn't take anymore. She was always truthful, considerate of my needs and situation and very caring. One thing she would always tell me, was to keep my eyes focused on my future and that my life would get better. It wasn't easy, but it's now over a year later and I'm in such a better place now than I've ever been before. Thank you Kerrie, for taking such good care of me and my kids!

Kerrie Droban represented me in 2012 in filing for divorce. She fully explained what would take place legally with the type of divorce representation the was needed. My divorce was non-hostile and the division of property, child support, and parenting time was explained to me in detail by Kerrie. She encouraged me to advise my husband to seek legal counsel so that he was comfortable with the legal advice she was giving to me and so that he would have a full understanding of his rights. I was impressed with the time she gave me to outline what information was needed prior to filing. She was very familiar with legal procedures involving the separation of property and division of cash and retirement funds, as well as working out a joint custody parenting plan for our children. The qualities of her service that most stood out was that Ms. Droban followed through with everything that was scheduled to be done, she stayed in constant contact and was prompt in returning calls and inquiries. Divorce can be emotional and painful. Ms. Droban made the process as painless as possible and counseled me with resources that could assist me in getting back into the workforce. I would highly recommend her to any individual who is contemplating divorce.

Kerrie Droban is an incredibly knowledgeable, systematic and tenacious attorney that I highly recommend. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years regarding my child support/custody battles, and she never lost any of my cases when she represented me. Her no nonsense approach while applying the laws of our legal system is both efficient and accurate at all times; not to mention, she has a unique calming way of taking the stress and worry away before, during and after the process of litigation. I highly recommend Kerrie Droban to anyone who needs to hire an attorney for any of the legal areas that she practices. You will not be disappointed!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have a complicated pricing system. My services and fees are listed on my website: kdrobanlaw.com
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm always taking CLEs to learn new legal developments in my fields of practice.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My three loves in life are theater, writing and research; law perfectly combines all three. I get to spend my days doing what I love (acting/litigating in the courtroom, lending calm to any crisis), writing (motions, briefs, petitions) and research (legal issues that arise).
What types of customers have you worked with?
My practice is nearly fifty percent family law and fifty percent criminal defense. I predominantly handle post-decree matters (custody, parenting time, child support issues) and in criminal law, mostly complex death penalty litigation and felonies.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I represented a father who wished to relocate to Florida but he didn't want his children to stay in Arizona; he had a job transfer and didn't want to be a long-distance parent. Mother, incidentally, did not work or have family ties in Arizona. After much litigation, he won and now has his children with him in Florida.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A customer looking to hire me should ask themselves whether they want personal service, unorthodox hours of operation, flexibility, modest rates, enormous discipline and quality representation. If their answer is yes, I'm their lawyer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish clients knew how much lawyers (me especially) care about their issues, how we sacrifice long hours and time with our families in order to provide quality service for people in crisis. I wish they understand that even if a question takes five minutes to answer that it took three years of law school and several years thereafter to be able to deliver that five minute response. What I wish clients knew about me? That I have multiple interests and they all dovetail nicely with each other. I am a professional true crime writer published with St. Martins; I have appeared multiple times on national television and have been a national speaker. Although I have two busy careers, neither clouds the other or reduces the quality and care I give my clients. Lawyers are nothing without reputation or integrity. I take both very seriously.
