Star is so great! I was super nervous to try voice lessons, but she put me at ease immediately, and now I love to go. I never sang in front of anyone before, but I always wondered if singing was a skill I could develop. Star is super talented, and I feel very lucky to be working with her.

Working with Star really helped me to build upon my singing voice. She took a great approach to helping me lay a solid foundation to work off of. Im in college and I've spent many years singing without any personal training and she was good in helping me understand where I was at as well. Lessons included vocal exercises, singing to tracks on youtube, and learning. She taught me about my vocal chords and how vibrations tell me how i'm singing by where you feel them. She records the lessons and emails you them or lets you record them. She has a mic that you can sing into so you can hear yourself when singing along with a track. Overall, it was very beneficial to have spent my money and time with her.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I like to start beginning singers with 30 minute lessons so that my students muscle memory has a chance to develop; then we can move up in time from there as appropriate for your growth. My fee is $40 per 1/2 hour and most students choose to pay $160 at a time to reserve their time each week. I do require a 24 hour notice of cancellation.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to hear a singer SING! When you come to my studio we will talk about your goals, we'll sing, and then start working on your goals. My goal is to sing songs you like to sing and in the process work in some technique and theory to enhance your skills. We will record your lessons so that you can practice at home. If, at that time, you feel we are a good fit for your journey then we will pick a regular weekly time. VIOLA!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied music formally since I was 12 and graduated from Indiana University with my music degree in 2000. I have been teaching/coaching since I was a teenager. Additionally, I have performed all over the US and in Europe across multiple genres.
