Introduction: My spectrum of editing is wide: Memoirs, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, YA literature, novels, children's books, fantasy, spiritual, self-help, websites, brochures, flyers, letters, blogs, articles, and newsletters, to name a few. I deliver on deadlines. I keep in contact with my writer every step of the way so there are no surprises. I offer: Copyediting Substantive Editing/Revising Proofreading My expertise in teaching and writing comes from my 30 years in education, as a high school English teacher, staff developer, workshop presenter, college professor, College Academic Director, Elementary School Principal, and a High School Principal. I can remember as a child that words captivated me. Spelling was a big deal. Playing private games in my head like anagrams was a significant pastime for me, and these habits have never left. With this quirky allure, I found ways to stay connected to words; mainly through reading and writing for myself and others. Each piece I read and edit (or heavily copyedit) becomes part of a learning experience for me. While I search for words, I search for meaning. Reading and writing are the ultimate communicators. My writing assistance to others has included journals, memoirs, fiction and nonfiction editing, including YA literature, children's books, poetry, personal letter writing, and academic papers. What fun to escape my day-to-day, and delve into another person's writing! You see, words fascinate me. This is what gets me up in the morning!

Writing and Editing Services

Annie was excellent. I asked Annie to edit an organization's presidential message for our newsletter. I gave her a very tight deadline. I needed it back by the next day. She was very prompt and was able to edit it well before the expected deadline. She did a great job editing and structuring my message. I am very happy with the results and will choose her again to any future needs.

Writing and Editing Services

Annie cast her eyes on my book of personal writings with an open heart and with a strong command of all the basic elements of proofreading and editing. Additionally, she offered some of her own ideas that helped me to clarify my own points of expression. The turn-around time was very fast, and I look forward to more support for my writing experiences. Thank you...Annie!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All of my pricing is negotiable. However, estimates are listed here: Copy and line editing/revising - approximately $45 per hour; however, the cost may vary - depending on the size of the project or the potential for ongoing editing. I can comfortably copy and line edit about 2200 words an hour. I am very methodical in my work.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I am all in. Your project is my focus. I will start with an initial meeting, Most of my clients are connected to me by the internet, where text messaging, facetime, and phone calls assist us in our collaboration. Clients living in the Phoenix area can meet with me at a mutually agreed upon place like a Starbucks that would be equidistant from my house to my client's home. Our first meeting is to gather information and make that plan to move forward. I believe in continual and frequent checkpoints in progress and I love the work I do.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelors & Masters degree in Secondary Ed., with an emphasis in English. I have taught high school, as well as college English. I also have 20 years experience as a school administrator. I volunteer my time to teach workshops and mentor others.
