- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $35.00 per hour. It is the same for beginning students, all the way up through professional guitarists, because though the content of the lesson varies, it's still the same hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Unless the student has not played at all in the past, the first thing to do is establish what the student knows already. Much of this can be established by email or phone before the first lesson. This way we're able to save time and get up and running quickly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Early on I had instructors that guided me through guitar theory and dexterity, as well as sight reading, and ear training methods. Later on, I would hire working studio musicians to teach me what they were doing that put them in demand in the recording studios.
