FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The City of Scottsdale is where I really cut my teeth in the industry. I started working in park maintenance at El Dorado Park in South Scottsdale. Always learning. I had a couple good friends who worked in the irrigation department which maintains ALL the parks in the city and the technicians get their own truck. And the rest was history! From then on, that was my goal! I took as many classes as I could, and became Smartscape (Basic and Advanced) Certified with the U of A extension campus, Irrigation technician courses through ALCA, Irrigation Association and other online classes. I learned as much as possible while working in the field putting everything I was learning right into the job. I rose from the bottom to an Irrigation Technician faster than anyone ever. I did it! Fast forward several years and I’m now running my own irrigation company in the city I grew up in. I’m truly blessed to be a part of this community and to have the opportunity to help all of you neighbors out there. I look forward to meeting you if I haven’t already! Ryan
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A couple weeks ago I had a client call for an assessment of their irrigation system. They thought some things were wrong but weren’t sure. Their landscaper told them they needed a new valve. I met with the client before starting my assessment and she explained that her husband was in the hospital and had contracted West Nile from somewhere but he was recovering well. She also said she thought she had a leak in the backyard near her valve box. I started my assessment by running each valve, looking for signs and symptoms of leaks, breaks, improper coverage, and proper or improper valve function. Right off the bat I started seeing leaks in multiple areas of the yard. Which in only a couple minutes of run time, the yard was starting to get standing water. I continued to find leak after leak, 7 total, not including the broken sprinkler heads. I repaired all the leaks and replaced the broken heads and I couldn’t help thinking, “ This place is or WAS a mosquito breeding ground! “. And then thought about her husband with West Nile. I truly enjoy what I do, especially when I get to help people. One of the reasons why customer service is paramount with Flow Irrigation.
