About
My love and compassion for these creatures that we share this world with is beyond measure. My goal in life is to learn as much about them as I can, and do everything in my power to combat animal suffering. However, I have seen a lot of sad as well as good. This has only made me stronger and more prepared. One thing that separates me from most others in my field is my ability to bounce back and continue to thrive after traumatic situations involving animals. I have been exposed to many types of species during all stages of their life, including the end-of-life. A wise mentor at my previous wild animal rescue once told me, "Everything he makes dies." Hearing this profound statement saddened me at first. However, it is what has led me to accept that these precious creatures are only with us for a short period of time, and that time needs to be cherished. I am forever grateful to all animals and the joy they have brought me. As each creature comes in and out of my life, I will continue to grow and learn wisdom from them. As a result, I am always there for any animal in need, any time, any place, any way. --I am able to put my knowledge of animals to use in order to stop and prevent animal suffering, improve quality of life, and allow them to achieve their full potential through training! :)

Hired on Thumbtack

Bought a purebred Dalmatian puppy. Never had one before, but I had heard that they can be very aggressive if they are not trained. But they can really be trained to be the signature, "The Firehouse Dog." She was raised very well:) All I can really say now is--- She is one heck of a dog! Thanks Joyce/Big Dogs!

Hired on Thumbtack

Searching for a dog trainer is not easy, let alone if you have specific demands. This was my situation. Joyce was not quite capable of accommodating what I was requesting, but she has continued to reach out to me to try to source a solution for my specific situation. That alone, someone who didn't get my business, by no fault of her own, has repeatedly checked in seeing if she could still help some how some way speaks VOLUMES on her character. If my situation was a typical one, I can assure you I would have hired her.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Contact authorities IMMEDIATELY if you suspect mistreatment, neglect, or animal abuse. There is a $5,000 for reporting dog fighting--you can find that tip-line with a simple google search. It is a good idea to get your dog/cat spayed/neutered if you don't intend on breeding, when a dog or cat is fixed, they are always on better behavior. ALWAYS leash your dog!! Microchip is recommended!! Do not hesitate to contact me if you find, see, or pick up a stray. I will also take emergency calls should come across a stray, an animal in distress, injured, hit by a car, etc. Please call my direct line for these emergencies. I will respond immediately and coordinate with the Animal Control Department in that area and we will do everything we can.
