I found Gary's services online after a miscommunication with my usual accountant necessitated I enact a desperate, late-night search for quick help. By nature I am one who usually researches this sort of service (or any new service provider, really) ad nauseam, but this time I didn't have much time. Thumbtack provided me with about 5 different options, and Gary's super fast and very personalized direct response, and willingness to help immediately, swayed me to work with him, and I do NOT regret it. He was friendly, knowledgeable, confident, patient with me, and ready to help me understand my options. He made this pain-free for me, and I will definitely work with Gary again.

I've worked with Gary for nearly 10 years now. He's helped me with everything ranging from business formation (both LLC and C-Corp) to personal taxes, to corporate returns. When my old accountant's work left me audited by the IRS, I came to Gary for help. I'm very happy that I did. Gary is consistently responsive, extremely knowledgeable, and the most dependable person I've worked with. He's smart, friendly, and on top of the law. He knows how to make the most advantageous decisions, while always staying firmly within both the law and ethics. For my business, we depended on Gary implicitly. He was organized enough to reach out when we needed to take filing actions, and was careful to help us setup our Quickbooks (and manage it) well. He was even better on my personal accounts I will continue to work with Gary as long as he'll have me as a client. One day I hope to hire him permanently, if that's something he'd consider. He's an A+.

Gary has been my accountant for several years; he's never missed a deadline and has been great with all of my tax questions/needs (and I have A LOT of questions). He also has helped me with structuring my LLC and making sure I do things on the up and up. Importantly, he calls me out on risky tax strategies and holds me accountable to them (he's not a push over). Additionally, he has helped put me in touch with several folks in his network to further help me build tax strategies that will save me money and set-up structures to best set-up long-term wealth development. I have and continue to highly recommend Gary.

I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to finances and taxes. I did my taxes for years - I even went to H&R block to have them do my taxes and went home right afterward and input my info on Turbo Tax to see which would give me the better refund. Turbo tax saved me more so I kept using it thinking it's the cheapest best thing I can do for my personal and business taxes. Every year tax time was a huge source of stress for me (getting all the paperwork together and not understanding some of the questions they were asking); then I got married and doing taxes seemed even more daunting. I decided to try and see if it was worth having a CPA do our taxes. Gary was recommended to us and our lives have literally changed for the better since then! He has not only helped us get a better refund than Turbo Tax, he has helped us find new ways to save money (since both my husband and I primarily have 1099s). He advises us on better ways to organize and structure our businesses and to think about new ways of saving money in the future. Every year when April rolls around, my stress level has decreased exponentially. I can't imagine having anyone else do our taxes. He's become more than a tax man to us, but a friend. He truly is an asset to our lives!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Lots of continuing education is required for CPAs. But in addition to the standard CPE, I read articles and news about tax law, accounting standards, etc. every single day. Well, maybe not on the weekend. But I do spend several hours every week keeping current.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    My father was a CPA, so it's all his fault! I was doing bank reconciliations for his CPA firm in middle school. In high school, I had a few clients for which I performed bookkeeping. It was inevitable - I couldn't escape it. Not to mention, I really enjoy working with people.
