Nick trimmed 2 very large, (35-40ft) overgrown Mesquite Trees. He was
extremely polite and discussed what he was going to do before he started,
so that I was in agreement. He was on time and did a fantastic job at a
great price. He sawed the large limbs into fireplace size logs as I
requested, and stacked it. He thoroughly removed all the trimmings and
debris so that you would never know the work was done. He is a true
professional and gets the job done! I have hired him already for work at my
place of business. 5 star rating. Tom

Rob was great to work with. Very nice guy, and very professional. In addition to taking care of the trimming and tree/stump removal I'd asked for, Rob also gave me a lot of good tips on how to water and fertilize the different trees in my yard. I would definitely recommend this business.

Gideon Tree Care was excellent!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Estimating tree work is not very easy, unless you get to see the tree(s) in person. Trees can be much larger in person, than in pictures, and one customers estimation on the size of the tree may be too liberal, or too conservative. As the tree guy, I have to take a number of things Into consideration. Things like height, truck diameter, amount of growth, positioning relative to houses or buildings, access, weight, how much time, and how many workers needed... It gets crazy. To do it without seeing tree is almost impossible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. In this line of work you have to keep up with different techniques and procedures. There are always smarter people than I figuring easier, or better ways to care for trees, so I do my best to keep up.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Honestly, it was an answer to prayer. .I had recently resigned from law enforcement (to pursue ministry in my church) and asked God to help me find a trade I can comfortably master. Within a week Nick Rice, owner of Nick"s Tree Service, approached me and offered me a paid internship program with the intention of eventually taking over his business. Over the last 2 years Nick has taken time to teach me the tools of the trade, and I am on my way to becoming a certified arborist.
