Introduction: I paint freelance and commission graphite pencil Portraits and Oil Paintings of Landscapes, Seascapes, Still Life, and Portraits. I have been a professional artist from 1976 to now and I teach Atelier style, Classical Realism from Basic Drawing to Advanced Oil Painting. I enjoy capturing the character and personality of my subject. I enjoy both painting Plein Air (on site) and in my studio. I have been given a gift to be an artist, years of experience and a desire to pass what I’ve learned to others in teaching art. I enjoy teaching. I do not desire to duplicate myself but rather to teach techniques that others who are aspiring to be professional or as a hobby, can learn to maximize their gifts and talents for others to enjoy through their work. I give personalized instruction even in group settings.

I am such a beginer - that I cannot really evaluate the class. But what I was very happy about, is that turning bear gave me what I needed, and I now feel inspired to continue drawing until I become more proficient!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each course is for 3 hours each for four sessions. The cost for drawing and oil painting is $240.00, payable at the first class but is negotiable.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a list of questions for him or her about their skill level, likes/dislikes in the art world, motivation to be artistic, etc. I personalize the instruction based on what I know about the new student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional artist for 41 years, starting out as self taught and than sitting under other artist/teachers to learn from them. I have studied the masters and their style narrated by art historians and books on techniques in drawing and oil painting. I have put together a course that mirrors the Atelier style of teaching from all of the above.
