Introduction: Mission Statement: LPC Construction is the "next generation" general contractor in Yuma, Arizona. We will strive to ensure that every project undertaken creates a successful partnership and long-lasting relationship between all parties involved. LPC is committed to providing owners with value-added construction services through industry expertise, continuing education, and the leading technology. Our goal is to foster Yuma's growth in a healthy way, one building at a time, to better the lives of those living here. Organization History: Founded in 2007, LPC Construction (formerly known as LoCoco-Pilkington Construction) has developed a professional construction business model that provides quality general construction services to end users. Drew Pilkington, president and owner, considers the fact that LPC was established in difficult economical and highly competitive conditions a blessing. The main reason is that unnecessary overhead expenses have not been absorbed into the LPC business model which has enabled LPC to remain aggressive in this new economy. Additionally, the current market has also created an environment where LPC has had ample time to implement operating procedures and a system of checks and balances for maximum efficiency on projects which is a direct benefit to end users. In our first two years of business, LPC's annual construction revenue totaled $1.4 Million and $2.1 Million consecutively, with the ambition of having $5-7 Million revenue per year in the first 5 years of business. During this time, LPC expanded from 2 employees to 4 employees and developed a list of many clients in Yuma who were extremely happy with their end product. From the beginning, the goal has been to specialize in local commercial construction and build a reputation as Yuma's high-quality, well-priced general contractor. Currently, LPC Construction is a growing organization. Our highly competitive business model has allowed us to acquire $5.5 Million of local commercial construction in 2010. Our staff has grown to 9 people, including a small team of laborers allowing us to self perform some trades. The primary reason for this success is the efficiency of the company's structure and education level of our staff. Our dedication is evidenced by the fact that three key employees at LPC have obtained bachelor's degrees, and our management staff have years of experience in the field and hold many certifications. Additionally, in an effort to further distinguish us from our competition, LPC has invested extensively in continuing education in areas such as the following: * LEED Green Building Design and Construction * Current Lien Laws and Procedures * Construction Business Finance and Accounting * Construction Project Management * Contract Laws, OSHA 10 and 30 Courses * HILTI-Accredited Fire Stopping LPC has also embraced technology by implementing programs such as The Construction Manager (cost accounting system), Google applications (email and document sharing), Microsoft Project, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and computerized estimating software into the business model. We strive to remain cutting edge in terms of knowledge and technology, allowing us to produce the best and more efficient end product. In the future, LPC Construction will continue to distinguish itself from our competition in terms of quality and price as we provide services that are superior to that of a typical design-bid-build contractor. This will be possible only through hard work and experience, unrivaled dedication to education, and utilization of cutting-edge technology. LPC will continue to expand the use of technology and further increase efficiency as further advances in such programs become available. The company goal is that LPC Construction will continue to grow at a rate of 15% annually to allow healthy growth and maintain core values and quality staff members. We are, and always will be, a dedicated team with the primary intention of providing the best valued projects possible for each of our clients. How do we perform in achieving budget and schedule requirements on projects? LPC Construction has always successfully constructed projects with a high regard for owner budget and schedule constraints. This is evidenced by the fact that every project undertaken since inception has been completed for a minimum of one week ahead of schedule with the majority of the projects finishing at least a month ahead of schedule. Project managers use Microsoft Project to outline project scheduling and utilize these schedules in weekly meetings with subs and suppliers as well as owner meetings to assure all parties involved are ready for each phase of the project as it approaches. Job scheduling is a huge priority to project managers and superintendents. In addition to completing projects ahead of schedule, LPC has also worked diligently to reduce and minimize the amount of change orders required on projects by carefully reviewing plans and specifications during the estimating process and beginning each job with a thorough knowledge and detailed budget for the scope of work required.
