Shayna, I’m really sorry you feel this way and chose to write out this review on multiple websites. I do want to respectfully clarify a few points for anyone reading this review. When you inquired on August 6, (just one month before your wedding), I was very honest with you in letting you know that I already had another wedding booked that day and that it would be tight, but I’m happy to accommodate if you’re willing to be flexible. You agreed. You also made it very clear you were against having makeup done, but because I came through a referral from your photographer, you inquired and I therefore agreed to accommodate you with the understanding that the timing would need to remain flexible. I did provide the services you booked for your trial, including travel, and made every effort to accommodate your wedding-day schedule (which was just you, the bride). In this industry, anything can happen, which I was upfront about prior to booking. The original bride’s venue (an hour and 45 minutes from your venue) adjusted the time which meant I had to leave earlier than planned and again, this was out of my control. Unfortunately, when the timing ultimately no longer worked for you, you chose to cancel. I did attempt to find another artist so that you would not be left without services, even though I was still fully able and capable to fulfill our agreement. The $450 payment covered 2 wedding fees including makeup services for your trial and wedding day plus $50 travel fees for each day. The $200 payment that I kept was a nonrefundable retainer which reserves your date and time, and with the trial and travel services already being rendered, had I given you a refund, you would have received $25 (which I’m happy to send to you). Had I been unable to provide the agreed-upon services altogether, I would have handled the situation accordingly and happily refunded the nonrefundable retainer, however the services had been rendered and you were reimbursed the $250 for bridal makeup and travel on your wedding day. I would never intentionally leave a bride without options on her wedding day as you’ve stated I did to you. I’m sorry that the scheduling ultimately did not work out, and I genuinely wish you the very best!
