FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All homes and buildings weren’t created equally and as such, ALL jobs are custom orders tailored to the customer’s needs. I take an upfront deposit of 25% upon booking and the rest after the job is completed to customer satisfaction. I charge a flat fee for my rates. My labor fees are standard for the area, timeframe, performance and quality. As for Estimating: Materials, Equipment,Transportation, Time,Labor and Clean Up will be factored into total job cost. Material costs are the responsibility of the client. I use the Home Depot app on my phone to quote material costs in case clients would like to make comparisons. I understand the customer may be able to get better deals on the necessary materials and equipment, So exceptions can be made if the client already has materials and equipment on site. I would only have to rent equipment if it would be absolutely necessary and help speed up the job production time and clean up afterwards. Tips are greatly appreciated! There are discounts for return customers and referrals!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to discuss what vision the customer has for their finished product. Do you know what materials you need and how much? Do you have anyone to hang your drywall board if it is required? Do you have a power source and running water? Do you have open air circulation? Do you require masking materials? I ask the client to send me pics for a general idea of what I’m working with, and if I can’t determine the size of it, I’ll come see it in person and measure it. I’ll let the client decide what finish they want and how soon they would like it done, based on the complexity we will come to an agreement on price based on how much involvement I have in the material purchases/delivery and equipment rentals/delivery. The labor cost is standard and can be broken down hourly or flat fee if the job can be completed in one trip.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
4 yrs as an apprentice and 3 yrs as a journeyman Drywall Finisher. During my apprenticeship we had on job training as well as supplemental education with in-class, hands-on training and shop practice along with certifications. I have worked in commercial, industrial, and residential construction for the duration of my career in a high production setting.
