  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Yearly, our management team attends a minimum of two conferences/expos. These are conferences dedicated to tax professionals like ourselves. At these conferences we attend continuing professional education courses to find out what is new in the industry as well as what changes in the tax laws we can expect. In addition to those two conferences that are usually held over a two to five day period, we attend yearly update and one day continuing professional education seminars. These seminars are more specific than the conferences and are required by the state licensing board. We typically commit 80 - 150 hours a year in dedicated continuing professional education time.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Look for value, service, and price. Accountants are not all created equal and sometimes what may seem like a bargain will cost you more in the long run. It also doesn't mean paying a lot for great service. Our model pricing at AcQute is a all-in-one model pricing where we give you the price per month and all of our services are included. We don't nickle and dime you for things that you will need to run your business.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

    Hiring an accountant from day one is both a smart choice and a great investment. Often, we hear that our clients are "too small" or "just started" and those are the same clients a year from now that come back to us with tax troubles or bookkeeping nightmares. The bookkeeping requirements are complex and the tax law is complicated. You need a professional from day one to help you guide your business. We often will charge a client whom didn't obtain a bookkeeper from day one just as much as we would have if they went with us from day one on a month to month basis. We are here to help and the investment you make in a qualified bookkeeping or accountant is a investment well worth it. A business starting with our firm may pay the $250 minimum a month and then save thousands of dollars in that first in by making the correct tax decisions and elections. In hindsight that $250 per month investment is small compared to the savings.
