Art for Children

Introduction: You are an artist! I am an artist with a true love to teach and share the good stuff with others especially children! Watercolor, with pen and ink are the mediums I love most. The art of seeing at a deeper, more detailed level is my main emphasis. My classes tend to have themes based on natural history, with the flora and fauna of the world right around us, the plants, fruit trees, flowers, most common weeds, birds, and insects that we live with. I have a love of vast portions of art history, so I include several bits and pieces of technique and influence from specific artists. My students have ranged in ages from 3 to 73. Most have come to my classes with a desire to draw and paint, but with an uncertainty of their own skill level. I have seen time and time again, with the concentration on really seeing a wonderful freedom to begin, to truly render with confidence.
