FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is straight forward like most writers' and consultants', I get paid by the hour. If the work is complex and very detailed, it takes longer to edit a page. Therefore, it is more expensive than a page from a children's book which can be done quickly. That approach to pricing quotes also takes care of editing the 100 to 200 page document which is often requested. There is no way a fair pricing quote can be given for such task unless it is by the hour.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For example, if you write about technology it helps to keep up with it. Information about new tech and products is easily understood if you have a foundation in that area. New words suddenly appear like "net neutrality or the cloud." If a writer does not understand their importance or meaning, any tech products or business trends based on those terms, will be lost on the writer. I read tech publications and web sites to stay current.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved writing and journalism. One has to have a certain curiosity and the ability to link a topic with other relevant facts or trends to put everything in context for the intended audience.
