Big Al was great. He did a great job on the drawings, and he was fast, which is great if you have a big event. More people getting their drawing done = more happy people.

Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I belong to ISCA the International Society of Caricature Artists (formerly the NCN the National Caricaturist Network). Every other year or so I attend the annual convention where over 100 caricature artists share information and art over a 4 or 5 day span. Artists come from all around the globe. I've been a member since 1994.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
While attending art school (California College of Arts and Crafts - BFA Drawing '85) I would go to comedy clubs and draw comedians while on stage for fun. My last semester at art school there was a posting on the job board to draw caricatures at a grad night and I was hooked.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking for a caricaturist try to view at least a few samples of the subject with their drawing. It will give you a sense of his or her personal style.
