Theo came to my home and gave cooking lessons to my daughter (12) and I. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was incredibly impressed with what we received. His pricing is fair, his knowledge is superior and his personality is fantastic. He worked with us for over 6 months once a week. We stopped using him for cooking lessons in the fall because of my daughters school schedule, but I still use him to cater small dinner parties, 25 people and under, and he does an absolutely wonderful job!!!!! Don not hesitate to call him, you won't be disappointed!!

My reasons to cook are not necessarily to do it on the daily, but to provide for myself and, maybe, others a meal that fills not just the tummy, but the soul. I've been brought up in a traditional Mexican household as a child, the joy of cooking begins from the moment the ingredients are bought, fresh, just for that one meal, and some spare things for the several other meals before the main event. At some point I lost that value, I started eating at places where my palate began to degrade, and the food I cooked at home became bland, and the convenience of going to a restaurant, or fast food, becomes the norm. And the stuff you see on TV!! The seeming intricacy of it all discourages one from evening making pancakes from a premix, we rather buy them frozen! I walked into Theo's kitchen and I felt as if a friend had invited me to cook, thankfully a friend who knows how to cook! No fancy terms, no fancy equipment, here is our ingredients, one knife, spatula set, an apron, some bowls, a pot and top grille. No measuring cups, no instructional book, no endless notation. Watch, learn, do. Measurements of more, handful, generous quantities are used. Cooking as I remember, simple to make, not simple in flavor. The smell and taste of something substantial, something earned. The first session was something simple, it was extremely encouraging that I am not a complete clutch with a knife, Theo makes the lesson go on as a conversation, encouraging on every step, so you do not feel as if you need to ask a million questions, the answers come, I am a trainer myself, so I know there is more listening when learning something new. The lesson is very hands on, the ingredients are simple and it is fun! I am very happy with my first lesson, I was able to bring lunch back to my mom, she tried to guess the ingredients, but she was amazed when I told here that was no blender needed, there was no manufactured ingredients, all from fresh ingredients. I am already signed up for a second lesson, very excited to continue learning. I won't be a chef, but I will be someone who can cook a meal that I am proud to eat and, maybe, share.

Chef Loannou is a high energy, hands on teacher. He made it easy to learn and made an emphasis on making sure we understood the reasons why it's cooked this way. I've already cooked some of the things he taught me and the results were great! I've only had the joy of taking his class once but will definitely see him more regularly once things settle down. I would highly recommend this chef to anyone serious about learning how to cook.

Theo is an excellent instructor! He will work right along side you and help you use your instincts to get the right amount of ingredients and guide you throughout. He is very enthusiastic about teaching, as demonstrated by the time and energy he puts into making you a better cook!
