- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I have standard prices for family shoots, events and weddings. These details, and others, can be found on my website: wwwshanekarns.com.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by asking about the type of photography a new client is looking for to ensure we're a good fit stylistically. I then discuss their goals and address any questions or concerns they may have about the shoot. Of course, I also confirm dates and times, locations and logistics, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For me, photography began as an intense hobby that evolved into a part-time, then full-time business. It was only after I started working professionally that I took classes to improve my technical work, my camera knowledge, my post work (primarily with Lightroom and Photoshop), and my ability to pose and connect emotionally with clients. I've learned since that the best photographers simply have the keenest eyes. So I take photos whenever and wherever I can, work on shoots six to seven days a week, and stretch myself technically and artistically at every opportunity. I love my job!
