- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was very involved with dancing and acting when I was younger, and was always putting on productions for my family in our living room with my sister (which looking back on, wow, were they patient with us, I demanded a lot of their time) So I discovered at a young age I enjoy being a part of something big, something important! I love to put on a show for people and have them truly enjoy themselves. I worked a variety of different jobs in the Medical/Surgical Field gaining knowledge and experience, but it never quite felt right...I always felt like something was missing for me; that my creative side was screaming to get out and I didn't know how to channel it. Anyway, one day I realized I was always the one being asked to plan parties, organize get-togethers, help plan weddings for my friends, etc....and then it finally dawned on me, "Hey!! This is it! Why hadn't I considered this before?" So, I started taking classes and was getting really excited about this new possibility. Then I decided I needed some real world experience outside my friends and family, so I shadowed a Caterer/Coordinator for a while to learn the ropes of large scale events and how to execute them. I was hooked immediately! I knew I had finally found my true calling!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most commonly, I help couples with their Day Of Coordination for their wedding. But, I provide an array of services and coordinate a number of events from Private Parties, to Full Wedding Planning to Corporate Events. I pledge to help you make your Wedding Day or Special Event surpass your expectations. I pledge to listen to you when you tell me your ideas and dreams about what makes a perfect day for you. I pledge to guide you and offer advice and suggestions based on your vision. I pledge to help direct you in regards to staying within your budget, without forfeiting your desires for a uniquely incredible event. I pledge to make you feel like a guest at your event so that you may enjoy it with your friends and family instead of being stressed host and missing it. - What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I know you may be thinking to yourself, "I am a very organized person. I like to plan things, I want to control everything about my Wedding Day..." Right? I know this because these are the same thoughts I had when planning my own wedding 2 years ago. I have been planning and organizing events both large and small for years now, I can handle my own wedding! As true as this was, as it may be for you as well, I quickly realized much to my chagrin that even I still needed some help. It's impossible to be the Star of your special day AND the Organizer/Coordinator/Time Keeper, etc...Even if you are able to plan every single moment down to the most minute detail, you will still need someone in your corner to help you make those dreams a reality. Someone you can count on to carry out your wishes and see your plan through to the end. There are so many wonderful emotions and exciting things going on throughout the planning process, not to mention on your actual Wedding Day, that someone needs to be there to keep you focused, grounded, and as stress-free as possible. This is where La Bella Vita comes in!
