FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My travel fee depends on the distance I need to travel. My notary fees are $15 each (Notary fee increase became effective January, 2017) for the first 2 signatures notarized and $10 each for subsequent signatures to be notarized. For example, if 1 person needs to sign several documents, but only one of those signatures need to be notarized, there will be only one notary fee charged.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with an introductory phone call or email to discuss the type of notary that needs to be accomplished. We would then discuss a time and place to meet, and if we are able to come to an agreement that the distance isn't too far (for me) or too costly (for them) then we make an appointment at a mutually convenient time and place.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take an all-day class when I renew my commission every 4 years. I take annual exams and background checks through the National Notary Association to maintain my status as a Certified Loan Signing Agent and keep up with changing laws.
