FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every manuscript is unique, so pricing is based on your manuscript's word count, genre, and the level of editing required. Before beginning, I'll review a sample of your manuscript and provide a customized quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My Editing Process 1. Inquiry Fill out my contact form with information about your manuscript, including the genre, word count, and a brief synopsis. This helps me determine whether I'm the right fit for your project. 2. Manuscript Review & Quote I'll review a sample of your manuscript and provide a personalized quote, estimated turnaround time, and service recommendations based on your manuscript's needs. 3. Booking Your Project To reserve your editing slot, a signed service agreement and a 20% non-refundable deposit are required. Once your booking is confirmed, your project is added to my editing calendar. 4. Developmental Edit I carefully read your manuscript from beginning to end, evaluating story structure, pacing, character development, dialogue, worldbuilding, point of view, conflict, and emotional impact. Throughout the manuscript, I'll leave comments and suggestions to guide your revisions. 5. Editorial Letter Along with your edited manuscript, you'll receive a detailed editorial letter outlining your manuscript's strengths, areas for improvement, and practical recommendations to help you revise with confidence. 6. Follow-Up Support After you've had time to review your feedback, you're welcome to send one follow-up email with questions about your edit. My goal is to make sure you understand the recommendations and feel confident moving forward with your revisions. 7. Your Next Steps Once you've completed your revisions, your manuscript may be ready for copyediting, proofreading, or publication. If you're unsure which service you need next, I'm happy to point you in the right direction.
