Introduction: My approach is different than other tutors because I listen carefully to my students so I can better understand their needs. I know that if I explain something and the student does not understand it, then it is I who need to try again. It is my job to find a way to explain the material in such a way that the student thrives and meets with continued success.
Also, there is no substitute for experience. I have been helping student's achieve their academic goals for over 20 years and I have continued to provide an excellent service and value over the years. As one parent recently said, "My son never would have increased his score on the SAT exam by 33% without Sylvia's patience and guidance. He is now on his way to his dream college."
IMAGINE the look on the student's face when his grades come in. How empowered he/she will feel when he realizes that he can do this. That he can accomplish a goal he sets out to do. That reward will stay with him and the memory of that accomplishment, as well as the skills he learns, will help in his school work, and will help in his life.
What I love most is seeing the student's face and seeing the student's joy as they meet with success.
