When my fiancé proposed to me last week, I was completely overwhelmed with joy and excitement, and to top it off there was someone there to capture our moment just perfectly: Carsten. She absolutely nailed my fiances proposal, catching every glimmer of surprise and emotion on my face, and then afterwards she talked us through the different poses she thought we should do. She even asked me if I had any ideas of my own! Carsten makes your shoot very comfortable and easy going, she's also very good about being discrete for surprise proposals (like ours!) It also doesn't hurt that she's a sweetheart in real life, too. All in all, my fiancé And I thoroughly enjoyed our experience working with Carsten, and we're pleased to receive our gorgeous photos within a matter of days. I'm so glad I hired Carsten to do my wedding photos! She was so knowledgeable to the area (a new place to me and my husband) and was so great to work with. The very next morning (like 12 hours later) I got an email from her with a few sneak peeks of our pictures and they were GORGEOUS! What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After exchanging our initial emails, I require a 50% non refundable retainer to book a client's desired date. Then, I send a short questionnaire to better get to know the clients. This questionnaire really helps us prepare for the photo session!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated in 2011 from Biola University with a degree in photojournalism (since renamed to "Visual Media".) I regularly attend conferences, workshops, and events designed specifically for photographers.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I started realizing that photographs are powerful and moving. I want to stir emotion in others.
