Vic N Sons expressed interest in helping me with my plumbing issues (flooding from under toilet when shower is in use) and had a positive review with a fairly high consultancy fee, leading me to believe that I was paying for quality. Foolish me.
First red flag: They asked me if I could pay cash, opposed to through the app. I get it, app commissions are high, times are hard, I obliged.
Second red flag: When they came to my house for the consultation, they half looked at my bathroom for 2 minutes and called that a consultation. That'll be $80. I paid.
Third red flag: They messaged me outside of the app and told me it would be a $250 job and that I was being "cut a deal." Do you see where I'm going with this?
They came to my house and spent 30 minutes in my problem bathroom "walking me through the process." "We're doing this, to make sure this works," etc. I had my concerns but I gave them the benefit of doubt because I'm not a plumber. They finished up and I payed them $270 (tip included) CASH which they accepted and promptly left.
No more than 5 minutes after they left I hear noises from my problem bathroom to find that my toilet is NOT ONLY overflowing, but FLOODING INTO the rest of my house. Surpise surprise, guess who is no longer answering their phone?
It's been two days since I've been able to reach them after REPEATED attempts between me and my roommate to contact them. We have a guest coming in a few days and now we have to find a new plumber.
I found out so you all have don't have to.
