- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The cost of lessons in your home is higher than the cost of lessons at my location. If you have more than one student in your household, then I also reduce your rate for each student. Wedding/benefit type performance costs will be negotiated depending on the location of the event, and also the duration.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started while I was a student at UC Berkeley as a way to work flexible hours, and do something that I loved. I started out with a music teachers agency and truly loved my work. After college, I worked as an independent teacher to allow me more flexibility over my schedule and student locations.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Besides lessons, I offer performance services. Most common are weddings (either solo piano or with a cellist or violinist) and fundraisers.
