We noticed water pouring out from our secondary AC pipe one evening and contacted Bryan. He responded right away and came out the very next day to fix the issue. A few weeks ago I hired an AC company to do annual maintenance on AC. Was told the unit was low in refrigerant and also was leaking. The quote was $175 per pound for 410a, and 4 to 6 pounds needed, plus additional $250 for sealant. I thought it would be prudent for me to ask for second quote. Bryan quoted me $95 per pound, so we settled the date. After he checked out the unit, he told me that the unit had too much refrigerant, so he let out 2pounds, and there was no leak. The total charge was $100+ $39+$12. The truth is that I do not know who is right, but I think Bryan certainly appeared to be honest here as he could claimed that the unit was leaking and he added a few pounds of 410a to get paid much more. So I like his honesty. All is good. I just want to warn anyone who likes to hire him one tiny thing. The $12 I listed above was the 8.75% sales tax rate in Sacramento. When I told him that I never had any serviceman charge me sales tax for labor, he got upset and decided not to work with me on future jobs, despite the fact that I said it is ok for him to charge me that, if that is what he wants, because I care about the total I pay, whether part of the amount is tax or not does not bother me one bit. But I apparently offended him too much on this sales tax issue. He might be mistakenly assuming that I am the person who try to avoid tax. Honestly, to this day, I still do not understand why he is the only one charge sales tax on labors. I have been in real estate business for 15 years, so I have worked with all kinds of servicemen. No one charged me sales tax on labor before. I even went ahead to read the tax law in CA, it said no sales tax on labors. But if you ignore this issue, his total charge is quite reasonable, and he is professional. Just do not bring up the sales tax with him, you will be happy
