Smart Construction Consultants specializes in an all-in-one approach to home improvement. We work in all aspects of remodeling such as kitchens, baths and whole house remodels in the Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara area. I believe what makes my business stand out from many other companies, is the simple fact that I NEVER come up with PROBLEMS, I ALWAYS come up with SOLUTIONS! I refuse to be the "bad news guy" and the homeowners I work with, knows they are in trusted hands and they appreciate that. Another very important thing to know is that if I do not specialize within a specific area, I will be the first to admit and I will always have the right experts to recommend to do the job. By doing this, I reach all home owners expectations and know that they got the best service possible. One area that I don't specialize in is insurance related remodeling of any kind, if you need help in this matter... my apologies in advance but I do not work with any pending insurance related claims. As a business owner, I believe that its best to be honest and transparent as possible, this way I'm ensuring to give the best experience and professional service without any compromise on the quality.

I have gotten quotes from 3 contractors I found through Thumbtack and we chose Smart Construction due to their reasonable pricing. Communication was great with Ron. Everything we have requested was granted. Ron made sure that all issues, even after a week after renovation was completed, were fixed and addressed. Our bathrooms look just like how I’ve imagined them. I am very happy and content with the service. Will definitely hire again for future projects.

This company was great to work with from start to finish! They took our large master bedroom and created a brand new bathroom and walk-in closet where there was nothing before. They help with the design/planning process as well. I will definitely use them again!

Ron was nothing but a pleasure to work with. I knew that there would be bumps in the road, because there always are, so I was looking for someone that I would be able to trouble shoot with without fingers being pointed. Ron is that man. We had a couple of very minor miscommunications so minor that they aren’t worth mentioning, and we were always able to work through them.
Ron’s entire crew was also amazing. Professional, tidy, respectful and kind. My 7 year old asked about them every single day for a month after they were gone!
Next year we plan on remodeling our bathrooms, and Smart Construction will be the team we hire.
The working relationship and collaboration was the best I have ever experienced.

Ron and his crew go the extra mile. We had 2 of 3 bathrooms done and little things like keeping the washer/ dryer hooked up until the last possible minute.
Ron also sat with me as I picked out my tiles, lights abd other finishing items so there would be no issues. Making sure I understood what he provided and what I needed to provide was very helpful and he couldn't have been more patient.
Im very pleased with the finished bathrooms and the immaculate work tbey did. I plan to use Smart Construction when I redo my kitchen!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Always fair and balanced - our pricing varies as each project is different from one another, this is why we offer free on site visit/consultation in order to determine the project needs and final cost. This consultation is a totally free estimate and is created to give the best price for each homeowners needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we find homeowners needs. Second, come up with a few options that bring new creative ideas. Third, we find the right timing for the project and schedule it. If needed, we meet with the designer and the project manager for everything related to the project such as inspection timing, material delivery, etc. Next, will be the shopping day and myself or one of my project managers will offer the homeowners to come with them if desire to find and select the finish material and start the purchase. This is a very important part prior to the project to start finding and ordering/delivering all needed finish material for the project (most of delays are as a results of finish material not available on time so we must reduce and eliminate this issue to ensure the project timeline). Once we are done with the above steps, we can start the project, the first day will be dedicated for covering, masking and wrapping entire working areas with plastic and ram boards to protect the flooring walkway and to isolate the working areas from the rest of the house. After this, we are ready to start the demolition and haul away debris and unused old material. Now beings the remodeling / building process and its varies depending on the projects type and needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our team attends special training seminars and we always keep updated by visiting expos and construction related events. The most important is having more than 20 years of construction experience onsite which is the most training you'll ever get!
