FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is anything but complicated! Following initial consultation, my clients are provided with a proposal that lists options of services, and in most cases, the cost of purchases. So they know from the beginning, what the project will cost. No surprises.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I recently learned computer drafting, which means I am getting design concepts to my clients much faster, saving them money. I also attend seminars, classes, trade shows, and subscribe to all kinds of trade magazines.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started drawing floor plans with scaled furniture around the age of 6, and then rearranging all the furniture in our house. For some reason, I thought all this design stuff was "just a hobby", so in college, I got a degree in advertising, and even worked in the film industry for a number of years. But I couldn't deny what I was meant to do - so I went back to school for interior design. Smartest move I ever made! There is no shame in making your passion your career.
