Tucker did an amazing job rallying all the kids and getting them involved. My son who just turned 3 danced and sang practically the entire time. Tucker also was nice enough to do the happy birthday song. Many of the parents at the party will be using you. W all loved the songs you chose for the toddlers.

Summer is an amazing musician and we have been delighted to have her play at our restaurant, Sliver Pizzeria in Berkeley. She plays to the room very well, sweet but professional presentation, and has proven to be versatile with classical, R&B, jazz, etc. Her personality is like the cherry on top and we can't wait to have her back.

In October of 2013 our reunion committee sought to have a special event with live music. We rented a large room at a local hotel in Orange County, California and found a highly recommended trio to perform for us. Our age group is between 70-73 and we were looking for R&B as well Doo-Wop from the 50's. In addition, we wanted to find a group that could alternate between music of the 2000's and 1950's. We hired Yorman Williams. It turned out to be an excellent choice! He arrived early to set up and play just as classmates began to arrive and enter the room. A very nice touch!. Yorman was true to his word that he would be prepared and flexible enough to play any era. During the evening Musical requests were made and Yorman's group could easily move right into the requested music. I believe his friendly personality with our group, musical skill set, and professionalism went beyond our expectations and truly added to the success of our reunion. I would happily recommend Mr. Williams to light up any venue you are planning for.

I first heard Jordan at out friends wedding ceremony in Beverly Hills, so we hired Jordan for our 125 guest backyard event this spring, and he was absolutly wonderful. He sang some fantastic Sinatra style standards and memorable songs from the 60's & 70,s while our guest ate, even some Motown. He has a beutiful voice. Then during the dancing time, Jordan not only performwed, he also played some contemporary dance hits by the actual artists Rap, R&B like we hear on the radio. It was a perfect combination of "Live" Entertainment and DJ Style dance fun. My party was a great success!! All of my guest told me that they had a blast!!! ( even the teens that were there) My brother is getting married this coming July and he already had hired Jordan. I highly recommend Jordan. Thank you Jordan!!!

Phenomenal, power-house vocalist who captivates listeners with her stylings of top 40 hits, r & b, soul, pop, gospel, and any genre in between. Versatile professional with the talent to sing songs by Chaka, Aretha, Whitney, Yolanda Adams, and others, and do them justice!

OFFBRAND MILITIA over delivers everytime! His beats are out of this freakin' world! Every instrumental I've recorded to of his not only brought out my best but has also got me radio exposure, over 1000 new fans, and a meeting with Nokio from the early 90's R&B sensation Dru-Hill to discuss major publishing and placement options!! If you want real raw original music behind your vocals and lyrics, If you want to get heard and possibly get a deal, then you need to get with this guy before the masses find out and he blows! Just keepin it 100 % ~Kafoeno~

She recorded the vocals for my song. I have vast experience in the industry and recorded with many many artists. She is definitely one of the best in the industry. Highly recommended, she is precise, quick, reliable and fast. Her vocals are immaculate and she is definitely a person I will continue to hire for many of my projects. Very versatile too, from r&b to pop, rock, soul, blues, etc. You will not be disappinted

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a mariachi band?

Mariachi bands are rooted in Mexican culture. Traditional mariachi bands consisted of two or more members playing stringed instruments, wearing regional costumes adapted from the charro (Mexican horseman or cowboy). Modern mariachi bands, which are likely what you’re looking for when searching for a mariachi band for hire, feature at least four members who play stringed instruments (violin, vihuela, bass guitar called guitarron) and one or more trumpets. The costumes have remained the same, but now trumpets are synonymous with mariachi music. Mariachi bands for hire often play a wide range of music, including styles originating from Mexico and adopted from elsewhere. These include jarabes, waltzes, serenades, corridos (Mexican ballads), ranchera, cumbia, and more. Mariachi bands for hire bring a festive and soulful element to a party, birthday, wedding, corporate affair, fundraiser or community event. UNESCO has inscribed mariachi music on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

How many mariachis can a band have?

A mariachi band for hire can have as many players as you like. Modern mariachi bands typically have a minimum of four players with the trumpet playing a vital musical role along with stringed instruments such as the violin, guitarrón (a Mexican bass guitar with a deep body), vihuela (a Spanish stringed guitar) and guitar. Strong vocals are also an important component of mariachi bands for hire, since one or more of the players will be singing during the performance. For a truly spectacular show, you can hire a mariachi band with 15 or more players. The medley of stringed instruments, multiple trumpets, soaring vocals, and even an accordion or harp is powerful and beautiful. Mariachis typically wear the traditional costume of charros — Mexican horsemen. The look is a very regal, monotone suit, often in black or white, with silver adornments and embroidery. Mariachi bands often wear sombreros as well. Traditional mariachi bands were only made up of two or more players, according to a UNESCO report celebrating the cultural heritage of the musical style. The style of music originated in the state of Jalisco. Now the style of music is symbolic of Mexico but is celebrated all over the world, and adds a fabulous vibrancy to any group’s events, parties and weddings.

How much does a mariachi band cost?

A mariachi band will bring your party or event alive with their fabulous costumes, beautiful playing and strong vocals. The cost of a mariachi band for hire will depend on how many players are in the group. Each musician in a performance group needs to be paid, so pricing is usually based on the number of mariachis (musicians), the location of the event (and travel time required), and the length of the performance. Day of the week also affects cost, as does day — Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other major holidays will cost more than regular days. The national average cost for live bands of all types ranges between $740 and $1,200. Depending on where you live and regional rates for performers, you might expect to pay between $65 and $120 per hour, per player. Mariachi groups may have 12-15 players available for performance at one time, depending on your budget. Here are some examples of how the number of players affects average cost:

    • Four mariachis: $300 per hour for weeknights, $400 per hour for weekends.
    • Five mariachis: $350 per hour for weeknights, $400-$450 per hour for weekends. Weekends may have a minimum number of hours.
    • Six mariachis: $400 per hour for weeknights, $450-$500 per hour for weekends.
