Words can not explain how wonderful and professional Richard who is the owner of RCS is. I wanted to convert my garage to a dwelling guest house and rent it out . I asked my friends for recommendations and called a few but did not like the vibes I got , they kept scaring me and would not give me a quote and instead told me that price might increase . I had used Thumbtack for something else and I was happy so I told myself I should call few engineers to get a quote . Not only RCS had the most honest and upfront rates but the owner Richard was very calm and explained everything to me and I was convinced he us the guy for the job . He always was available to answer my questions and as soon as he heard an update from City of Los Angeles he would inform me right away . I just got my permit today and although his job is finished he told me if I have any questions about the permit, he is available to answer. This is an honest review by a women homeowner

We had Richard at RCS provide structural plans for 2 separate ADU projects. We found Richard to be responsive to emails and questions, helpful in making recommendations and referrals to other professional services. RCS, in their estimate, gave us a fast turn around time and then delivered a week early. Very happy with Richard and RCS engineering services, Highly recommend.

RCS do not use/ manage sub-consultants properly. I accepted the contract with the understanding that an architectural designer will be hired for my project. The Architectural Designer that RCS hired did come out to my house but was not properly informed and included in all Architectural matters of my project unless I beg. Perhaps it is cheaper for RCS to not involve the Architectural Consultant like we agreed to and give me poor designs over and over. Why have the consultant come out to my house but not include him on all Architectural matters? Just not right!

RCS Engineering Services's reply

RCS provided services consistent with the contract proposal provided to the client, including consulting with a designer. After multiple initial revisions where the client included additional work items, RCS noted to the client additional fees would be required for those items. RCS was unable to authorize additional services from its sub consultant without the owner agreeing to additional payment. It was unfortunate we were unable to resolve this item. RCS takes pride in its work by providing a responsive, cost effective service. The owner’s expectations for the project were unrealistic for cost proposal which was agreed to and was not interested in negotiating a solution to move the project forward. This review was posted promptly after additional fees were requested and before speaking with RCS on the matter.
