Holly R. says, "Thumbtack was so easy to use! I highly recommend their website. I needed my stucco repaired after an upgrade from a 120 amp to a 240 amp panel. I received 5 bids within 3 minutes. The name of the company was shown as well as their licensure. That part was very important to me that they be licensed and bonded. One of my choices wasn't licensed which was immediately removed from my list. I pretty quickly decided on The Lath and Plaster Company. The owner, Jose, contacted me several minutes after I chose his bid. I liked that he and his brother are a small family-run business. I put the call on speaker so my husband and I could both listen to Jose describe his stucco experience and how he would bring that extensive knowledge to our project. He sent me photos of other jobs he had done and they all looked perfect. We were very confident that he was the contractor for us. He is polite, articulate, and obviously very well versed in stucco repair (I believe he has 10 years of experience.) His price was reasonable and fair (not the lowest, but not the highest either.) We sent him a photo of our electrical panel so he could see the stucco and what would be involved in the repair. He agreed to complete the job for the original bid that he gave us n Thumbtack. It was very important to us that he didn't change that amount. My husband and I both liked what he had to say and chose him based on our phone conversation. We agreed on a time (4 days from the phone call) for him to come and start the project. He arrived on time, completed the lath and waterproofing, and immaculately cleaned up the work site. We gave him half of the agreed upon fee at that time and set up our inspection. We live in Thousand Oaks so inspections are required and very thorough. Our inspector came out the next day, and called Jose's job, "a work of art," and explained to us that he never sees this level of thorough work done and how important it is to get the waterproofing and lath done correctly. He showed both my husband and I where Jose had excelled over other contractors, which was apparently the entire last and waterproofing process. When I say the inspector was impressed, I am not exaggerating. He was so happy and said he wished that there were more contractors out there like Jose. He came back a few days later as scheduled and completed the stucco repair. We are incredibly happy with the work we received. He was a true pleasure to work with and we will certainly recommend him to all of our friends and neighbors who are in the process of upgrading their panels. A big shout out to Thumbtack for their incredibly easy process to connect us with such an outstanding company as the Lath and Plaster company. Thank you Thumbtack and Jose!"See more

David W. says, "Ray and his crew did a great job removing two large, dead maples, grinding the stumps, and planting a pair of citrus trees in the holes for me. Ray was punctual and professional with his quote, and explained the options and processes in a straightforward manner. In the end, it turned out part of the process was unnecessary, and he adjusted the price without issue. His crew went above and beyond, even cutting up some fireplace logs for me, and trimming an extra tree away from power lines at no charge. They arrived when they were supposed to, knew exactly what they were doing, were at all times polite and professional, and completely cleaned up the debris and sawdust, not only from my yard, but from my neighbor's yard as well.
