- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before the first lesson, the client and I have a conversation to communicate materials needed, technical needs if an online lesson, and prior experience with the flute. At the first lesson, I inspect the flute to ensure it is working properly while discussing the student's goals. We then dive into learning! By the end of the first lesson, the student will walk away with new skills and a plan to reinforce the learning during the following week.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my bachelor's degree and teaching credential from California State University Long Beach. I have taught flute lessons for over 25 years and have taught band and orchestra in the classroom. I don't think I'll ever stop learning! I frequently attend flute masterclasses and conventions to learn from the best in the industry. I am a member of several professional organizations that hold conventions/classes each year.
