Ron was absolutely great to work with. He got right back to me when I initially called, provided a detailed quote and completed the work perfectly not leaving a trace. He knows his way around old houses and provided several solutions to problems we had that were the right way to do things and not just taking a short cut, like lots of contractors tend to do. We will definitely work with Ron again.

Ron was very responsive. He and his partner installed a gazebo that was a bit difficult due to poor instructions. Two curtains were required but came in different boxes. The main instructions did not provide info regarding the 2nd curtain. He was creative in making adjustments. Overall it was a great experience. I highly recommend North Berkeley Construction. In fact we are hoping to use them for a kitchen remodel.

I would highly recommend Ron to anyone who needs a trustworthy professional for either a large, complex project or a quick fix.
Ron did a great job diagnosing a problem with my track lights and fixing them quickly. (The three electricians I hired before Ron were all stumped about the issue). Ron is clearly extremely experienced and knowledgeable. He was also really pleasant to be around. He gave me the space to continue working through emails, but communicated with me just enough so I knew what was going on.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing system is per bid. Its not complicated.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to listen to what the customer is saying and what they want to accomplish. Sometimes people know what they want but don't know how to get there and when that happens your job is to present the options available to them. The options often start with a conversation and are followed up with a written proposal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in construction technology. I also have had additional college level training in solar. I have years of experience working with and learning from structural engineers, mechanical engineers, soils engineers, architects, building inspectors, specialty subcontractors. The knowledge I gained allowed me to build single family homes, commercial buildings, restaurants, nightclubs, post offices, Cal Trans projects, tenant buildouts in high rise office buildings, seismic work on commercial buildings in SF city center as well as many other projects.
