Mike was such a pleasure to work with. Since we are not local to the area, we required more than usual assistance, and he was happy to help. He was up front about pricing, and what was included. He provided the location, which was stunning, and he was on time. He treated my family as if we were friends, he made a point of referring to my children by name...little details that mean a lot to me! If we are ever in the area again, or if Mike were local to us, we would make a point of going to him for portraits time and time again. (Oh, and the photography was beautiful! he captured my little boys being themselves, while capturing the family picture I wanted. He even got some great couple shots of me & my husband.) Thank you Mike. It was a joy to work with you.

My husband and I wanted a family beach portrait with our two teenage daughters done in Laguna Beach; a favorite vacation destination of ours.  Prior to our trip, through Thumbtack, we received five quotes from photographers.  The quotes for a shoot were comparable. After looking at the photos that each photographer posted on Thumbtack and on their websites, we chose Mike Altishin,  because we wanted a photographer whose photos weren't contrived looking.  His were natural, filled with energy, and the people in his photos looked relaxed.  These were the qualities for which we were looking.   On his personal website, Mike has an awesome video showing himself shooting various subjects.  It captures his chill personality and excellent eye.  As a bonus, he has access to a private beach that allows for uninterrupted focus and a relaxing experience.  Throughout the photo shoot, Mike knew exactly how to capture the shots and the feel we were after.  Both he and his wife, Angelina, were so helpful, professional, and easy to work with.  We had a wonderful experience and the shoot turned out to be a highlight of our trip.

I had I Mike took photos of 4 adults and 9 kids 7 and under for me and handled it great I will be using him for my family photos for now on. Mike is very easy to work with and now what he is doing.

Mike did a great job with our 6 month old and his grandparents. Mike did some outstanding shots both in the gardens around the house and in his crib.
