Our general contractor has assembled an impressive team of subcontractors for home remodeling projects. Among the subcontractors, he enlists the help of Tory Thompson and Paradise Painting to paint the interior of our 1300 sq. ft. home. The painting involved every aspect of our recent remodeling project from walls and ceilings to kitchen and bathroom cabinets, crown moulding, baseboards, doors, frames, and surrounds. We were impressed with Tory’s expertise and the skill of the crew he maintained. They showed meticulous attention to detail, masking, priming, patching, sanding, painting and then doing it again until our cabinets had a near plastic like coating. The doors, mouldings and baseboards were given the same attention to detail with excellent results. We thought it was unique that Tory used Bondo, the automotive body filler, for the patching needs with impressive results. The painting was done well and in a timely manner, about four weeks. We thought the cost of the painting was appropriate for the expertise, labor, materials and the quality of the work done. Tory maintained a positive, professional, and friendly attitude toward us as well as our designer throughout the process. He also worked very well with all the contractors he encountered. He came to our house prior to starting the project to prime a portion of our living room wall so that our designer could more closely look at the paint samples she was considering. He supported our designer and repainted our fireplace mantle with a more matte finish when they decided the original job was too shiny. It seemed to us that there was a mutual respect between Tory and everyone he worked with on our project especially our designer. We asked our general contractor for a recommendation for an exterior painter and he told us Paradise Painting was one of two he uses. Paradise Painting did an excellent job sanding, priming, masking, and painting our house. Tory recommended Dunn Edwards, Evershield, semi-gloss paint that left a slightly shiny, slippery, dirt resistant, easy to clean surface. He did an excellent job patching the sprinkler damaged stucco on the side of our garage and front of our house. The rain gutters were sanded, primed, and painted with an appropriate paint. The facia boards were prepared (Bondo again) and painted beautifully as well. Our 1962 home looks better than new. Paradise Painting and Tory have the respect of an excellent general contractor. He has a hard working knowledgeable crew to draw from. He is experienced in method and materials, and he worked well with us as well as all the contractors involved in our project. We hoped for the best job possible from all the contractors involved in our project and we must say that Paradise Painting lived up to our expectations if not exceeding them. Thank you Tory. We appreciate all you did for us.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have recently completed several nice remodels , one of which was a complete transformation of a dated Irvine townhouse that had a heavy knockdown drywall texture, old pergo floors, golden oak stained cabinets and very dark inside. We added lots of new warm LED lighting ( that one part was done by a licensed electrician), changed out all other lighting throughout, removed a couple of non bearing (90’s style) walls , smoothed out all of the walls , painted the cabinets inside and out with a white gloss enamel paint, painted entire house using lighter colors with a velvet sheen ( which completely lightened up the place along with the new lighting), then adding a very modern engineered floor and new baseboards and door casings , in 3 1/2 weeks.
