Are you an adult looking to learn cello for the first time? Or someone who’s coming back to it after a long spell and this time, you want to get it right?
Do you want to learn with a Juilliard graduate who has spent 6 years researching and perfecting the art of teaching adults?
Do you not want to have your precious supply of motivation sapped by learning with kid-focused methods, a kid-focused teacher, playing kid-sounding songs, around kids who play better than you?
Would you rather learn surrounded by a group of likeminded adults, getting constant support, inspiration, and motivation, and being taught with a method created for adults by a teacher who’s goal to get YOU even further than you think you can go?
Does the fastest progress available to an adult student, no matter their schedule, sound tantalizing to you?
Does actually getting all the tools you need to meet your cello goal sound worthwhile to you?
Does becoming a fully-realized, well-rounded musician excite you?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, College of Cello was designed with you in mind.
We believe in try-before-you-buy. Free introductory lesson for those on the fence or with questions.
We look forward to hearing from you.

At first I was hesitant to have cellolessons online since I thought it would be more beneficial to have a teacher face to face. However, I am so glad I gave it a try. Keith is an incredible teacher and I’m so thankful I am able to learn from him. Every lesson I learn so many new things and it makes me fall in love with my cello more and more. I’ve had a number of cello teachers but Keith by far exceeds my expectations. He’s so knowledgeable and encouraging and makes the lessons full of learning and fun. After just a couple lessons my friends already could tell a difference in my cello playing. I highly recommend him to everyone and I 100% believe you will not regret hiring him.

Ive taken a number of lessons already with Mr Williams. Having had a number of prestigious teachers in piano, it is easy to recognize that the instruction he gives os of high quality. I am grateful to have found Keith and I expect you will find the same should you decide to take lessons with him.

I have been taking lessons with Keith for over 7 months now, and I am very glad that I have made so much progress.
As an adult student, I started my cello study 2 years ago, and developed the bad habit of tensing up whenever I play. That really bothers me because my sound turns out to be very uneven and crunchy.
During our lessons, Keith is so patient and helpful that he starts with the very basics of holding the bow and positioning my hands and arms. He is also very good at demonstrating things and making abstract ideas easy for people to understand. He pursues the best quality in both his own playing and his teaching, and I have learned a lot from him.
If you hope to start or further your cello study, Keith is definitely one of the best teachers you could find!

I am an adult student, who hadn't played for 20 years. I took lessons with Keith for a summer 4 years ago, and in a short period of time Keith had me playing better than I ever had. I have recently started taking lessons with Keith online. I was at first skeptical about how productive online lessons would be, but I have been very pleased with it.
Keith is very observant and an excellent listener. He can quickly diagnose what a student is doing incorrectly, and give very specific advice on how to fix it. His passion for music and the cello is infectious, and I would recommend him wholeheartedly!

Keith is an excellent teacher. Very knowledgeable about the cello and music theory. He finds ways to explain concepts so they make sense and he is patient, supportive and inspiring. I have thoroughly enjoyed cellolessons after not playing for over 40 years. He obviously loves what he does and brings that to every lesson.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If you take consistent, weekly lessons, there is a great deal for tuition!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before our first official lesson, I like to have a conversation with the student, to discuss and determine their goals, and the time they have to devote to them. I then take all of this information and tailor a plan for the student to succeed in their cellistic goal, whether it be starting the cello from scratch, furthering their skill in a beautiful and satisfying hobby, jamming with their family, joining their local orchestra, or winning an audition.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
College of Cello professor Keith Williams:
B.M. from The Juilliard School, studying with world-renowned cello pedagogue Timothy Eddy
M.M. from University of Southern California, studying with celebrated international soloist Ralph Kirshbaum
Master's Thesis on the Art and Psychology of Teaching
