FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every client's photo needs are different. I will customize your estimate once I have the details of our shoot. I don't have a "price list" or blanket hourly rate for this reason. I'm reasonable and respect client's budgets as well as my worth.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like showing up to our shoot prepared. Depending on the shoot I will have a phone conversation or email conversation about your image goals, best timing, advice on wardrobe and any other details that will allow us to feel ready and relaxed on the shoot day. During the photoshoot, I aim to create a professional yet fun and down-to-earth experience. After the shoot, again depending on the details, I'll let you know when to expect to see your online gallery and next steps. I appreciate clear communication both ways.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Studio Art from U.C. Irvine. After college, my personal, fine art photography is always in the background while I've gone from my early years working as a studio portrait photographer, to a commercial photographer's studio manager, to assisting celeb/still-life/architectural/food/etc. photographers in Los Angeles, to shooting my own assignments for magazines ranging from fashion/lifestyle/food/travel/environmental portraits and more. All along, slowly building my privately commissioned portrait business, Su Casa Portraits. I've also taught various photography courses the last 9 years in Los Angeles and Maui.
