We had an issue where our gas fireplace was not lighting consistently. The technician was able to assess the situation and provide a professional cleaning of a fireplace, which we have not had since we had been in the home. The fireplace is working better now.

I typically don’t write bad reviews b/c life is too short – unless the contractor is absolutely terrible, which is the case for Royal Globe Construction! I hired them to install pool tile that I had previously purchased and then to drain/power wash/acid wash my pool given all the tile pieces that were going to be at the bottom anyway. The job was toured/sold by Lucia, who was pleasant but keep in mind will not supervise the work product at anytime. To summarized just some of the issues, (i) the contract said stainless steel was to be used over the automatic pool refill area, they were going to use 22 gauge sheet metal and then double it over, a solution that would be weaker as minimum is 11 gauge and would rust, until I caught it and made them replace, (ii) tile was jutting into pool until I notified and had fixed, (iii) only had one tile installer with no bins for the old tile (I had to provide) and took several days off and then disappeared, leaving other workers to finish the job, (iv) showed up for the pool cleaning with only acid wash, then left after finding out the contract said power washing. Lucia tell me that acid washing could stain my pool when they only came prepared for that to begin with! (v) Left a slush of acid washing and plaster in my pool and spa, their solution was to refill the pool w/o taking any of the solids out then come back next day to “vacuum” out bottom – which of course just pushes the majority of the slush into the pool water. Their “boss” is a guy David, typically fast talking & false friendly when trying to upsell a service but useless when anything goes wrong (changed a quote by more than doubling). Finally after the job was finally done, within 5 days over a national holiday, they sent me a quote for the remainder on a Thursday (already paid them $2,000 partial payment immediately when requested), which I told them was not an invoice, next day they sent me an invoice for $250 when the remainder due was $2,250, which I kindly reminded was missing a zero, on a Sunday they finally sent me a correct invoice but I was out of town given national holiday. Told them I would pay when back on Wednesday as driving back that day in nonstop traffic. They sent me another request on the national holiday (July 4th) and a relentless series of texts on that Wednesday while I was driving. David then wrote “take your time I’m going to lien your house” – are you kidding me. This guys people took 2x as along that the job needed (left pool tile out on my lawn the entire time), had multiple screwups, changed quotes w/o reason and then is delusional enough to threaten the person who hired them in the 1st place! So I paid them $4,250 on time (unsure whether they even paid Thumbtack for the setting it up – my guess is no), and still get empty threats, funny if no so pathetic and knowing that he has pulled that threat with other honest people.
