We wanted our yard to be flat and leveled he said he could do it. He wanted $5,600 we negotiated to $4,900. He dropped off his crew which was 3 guys gave them shovels and told them to dig, when you are leveling a dirt yard your supposed to be using a leveler and checking to see how much you need to dig. They didn’t do that they just eyeballed it. These guys had no experience at all! All they had were shovels no proper equipment. So then it ended up were there was to much dirt so we had no choice we had to pay to have it hauled away so he charged us another $4,900. He said he was going to throw some of the dirt on the hillside, smooth it out and make it nice and even. It’s an uneven mess. Then he began to ask me for more money! He said this was a lot of work, I had to rent some equipment. I just gave him a total of $9,800 he wanted more! Instead of being upfront with what the project is going to cost he starts the job and starts adding cost as he goes along. My husband asked him when they finished is it leveled. He said I think so. My husband told him I can tell you it’s not I can see by looking at it. We were so angry we gave him the rest of the money and told him to leave. You’re done you can go. Now I’m going to have to find an experience, knowledgeable landscaper that knows how to level a yard with the proper equipment.
