FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All new clients will go through an assessment process where I learn more about you and your goals so I can craft a personalized plan. We'll work together to implement diet and exercise practices that make sense for you!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Master's degree in nutrition and functional medicine from the University of Western States in Portland, OR. I am a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) which required 1000 hours of clinical supervision, a rigorous board exam, and 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years. I have extensive education in metabolic health, gut health, and functional medicine nutrition, as well as intuitive eating and HAES aligned healthcare practices. I have 8+ years as a certified personal trainer. I have extensive training in hardstyle kettlebell training, functional movement systems, run coaching, and sports nutrition.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Did you know that in many states, anyone can call themselves a "nutritionist?" This means you could be getting nutrition advice from someone without the proper qualifications, experience, or education. The potential risks of this are significant, considering the conflicting and complicated nutrition information out there. It's crucial that your nutrition professional is qualified to provide trustworthy advice. When it comes to your nutrition, you should always seek advice from a CNS (Certified Nutrition Specialist) or RD (Registered Dietitian). These professionals have unique qualifications and expertise that set them apart. They have the experience and proper education to understand and address your specific goals and needs. Remember, not all nutrition professionals are created equally!
