Law Office Of Andra Vaccaro's reply
The Arizona action was due to my representing a man pro hac vice in Arizona in a business tort litigation that had been brought before I had met him. I had dated the man for almost a year prior to agreeing to represent him. While I represented him, the man was also represented by local Arizona litigation counsel. The man later physically attacked me and was charged by the People of California with 7 felonies and a misdemeanor. as a result of his attack on me. The man, whose name is David (however, I have never represented a man by the name of David Y) pled to the misdemeanor in the criminal action and agreed to the entry of a 20 year criminal restraining order prohibiting him from, among other things, any contact with me, harassment of me or from disturbing my peace. Despite the restraining order, the man later sued me for malpractice and abuse of process in California. His suit against me was wholly resolved in my favor when the Court dismissed all of his claims and sanctioned my former client for bringing the action in the first place. This man also filed state bar complaints against me in both California and Arizona. The State Bar of California took dismissed his complaints. The Arizona Bar refused to do so and forced me to defend myself at a hearing. In the Hearing Officer's Report for the Arizona bar matter referred to in the posting, the State Bar Court found the following: "....[T]here was no actual harm to the client..." "There was no evidence presented that [Ms. Vaccaro's] performance as [this man's] lawyer fell below any standard of competency, or that the disclosure she made to the previous co-counsel hurt [this man's] case in any way. As noted, [Ms.Vaccaro] felt that her communication with the previous co-counsel was specifically approved by [her former client] and she sent a copy of the subject email to him." "[Ms. Vaccaro] according to letters submitted on her behalf, has an excellent reputation in the California legal and social community as a competent, honest and ethical attorney." "there was an absence of selfish or dishonest motive" during my representation of [my former client], "[Ms. Vaccaro] ha[d] been practicing law for 28 years and has no prior disciplinary record", and "Respondent did not withdraw from the representation of [her former client] because she reasonably believed that she had a duty not to withdraw in order to avoid 'foreseeable prejudice' in the litigation to her client under Rule 3-700(A)(2) of the California Rules of Professional Conduct.... Because [Ms. Vaccaro" felt that there would be 'foreseeable prejudice' to [her former client] if she withdrew, she did not do so. This is a situation where we have a conflict between the expectations of the Arizona ethical rules and the California ethical rules. Given that [Ms. Vaccaro] is licensed to practice law in the state of California, and only appeared in the state of Arizona pro hac vice, the prioritization of the California Rules by [Ms. Vaccaro] is certainly understandable." The fact that this is still being re-posted over and over again 3 years after it was resolved shows the reason why the Los Angeles District Attorney required my former client to agree to a 20 year criminal restraining order" before entering into a plea bargain with him. In fact, recently this same man personally sued another woman who he had physically assaulted for libel in connection with her posting a report online to warn other women about his violent and crazy behavior. In February, 2013, a week before I was supposed to testify in court in that matter, other postings concerning me and the Arizona matter appeared online in addition to other online postings assailing my character. In that recent Califoria case, the woman successfully defended herself against this man's libel claims when a jury found that all of the material contained in this woman's postings about this man were true. In my opinion, his recent baseless lawsuit against another woman who this man had dated and his lawsuit and complaints against me both on this site and others, clearly show that my former client cannot let go and move on with his life.

Ms. Vaccaro is truly a wonderful attorney. She answered all of my questions and explained things to me in a way that I could understand. She also suggested ways that I could protect my business in the future. I initially hired her to prepare a trademark application. I was so pleased with her work that when my husband needed an attorney to protect his invention, I immediately suggested Ms. Vaccaro. She wrote an outstanding patent application for him and it ultimately issued into a patent. She made suggestions to us for expanding the scope of my husband's invention that were right on! In addition, her knowledge of general business law and intellectual property law was far superior than other patent attorneys to whom we had spoken. She is always available to discuss our matters with us, even if it is after general business hours. She is now drafting all of our business contracts. She tries to act in such a way to keep our fees and costs down. I highly recommend her.

Andra Vaccaro was extremely helpful and taught us the difference between trademarks and patents. It turned out we needed a utility patent, a design patent and several trademarks to protect our new product. We needed the work done quickly and Ms. Vaccaro did not disappoint us. She wrote what we needed and we learned about several features of our product that we had not even realized when she was done. She filed our trademark applications within hours of our hiring her to do so. Her rates are very competitive and fair. We will use her services again and again.

I recently hired Andra Vaccaro to draft a license agreement between me and a large well represented company. Ms. Vaccaro ensured that all of my rights were protected and that I received all of the benefits that I required for my business. She explained all of the terms to me in a way that I understood them and was extremely helpful. I would use her again and again. She is honest, trustworthy, performs her services in a timely manner and she is very knowledgeable about licensing of intellectual property.

Our company has used Ms. Vaccaro for the past thirty years. She has protected our inventions and obtained patents when our prior attorneys told us that we had nothing that was protectible. She goes the extra mile to ensure that her clients' rights are broadly covered. She also handled several licensing matters for us and her expertise in obtaining clauses that ensured that our licensee would abide by the agreement was far better than we expected. We recommend her highly and feel extremely lucky that we found her. She is really an outstanding attorney.
