FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $30 for the first lesson, and that tends to be 45 minutes so we can get a feel for how we are going to work together. From there, I charge: $30 for 30 minutes $45 for 45 minutes $60 for an hour I charge by the week, and have a 24 hour cancellation policy! Please contact me for more information on my rates and policies!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally, the first lesson consists of evaluating where you're at and where you want to be within a certain timespan. We may work on a couple of things you have prepared or if you're not ready for that we work on materials and songs/pieces I may have. I always make sure to bring a variety of materials for the first lesson so I can get a feel for where you're at!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Bachelor's in Music from the University of Houston in 2013. From there, I went to The University of Texas at Austin, studying under the highly regarded South African pianist, Anton Nel. I received my Master's in Music as well as my Doctorate in Music from the University of Texas (2015 and 2018, respectively). While at The University of Texas, I worked in the Piano Project department, which focuses on children. In addition to that, I had 12 college students who took private lessons on a weekly basis. I also taught at a school in the Austin area (Paula Wong Piano Academy) and taught multiple children! All of this was while I was finishing my doctorate degree... so you could say I really love teaching!
