I hired Ty to take my professional headshots, and I could not be happier with the outcome. We used the entire time to do different poses and outfits. We had an excellent experience working with TY Chen! He is incredibly professional and dedicated to his craft. Ty is a very talented Photographer and he did exactly what the feeling I like for my profiles. He knows where is the best spots to shoot and know where we can find the best balance between the natural light and the composition. I am 30+ years old man who seldom take photos, but Ty taught me how to relax myself and make myself look more “natural”. And my chin doesn’t look that thick after he taught me how to position. If you want to shoot some unique photos which look like very fashion with a “Los Angeles” style, Ty Chen is your must-see photographer.

Ty is phenomenal! I’m so thankful I came across his profile for my photoshoot. I reached out to him with my mood board for a fashion editorial birthday shoot. He is very professional and works with you to recreate your vision. All my questions were answered, he gives options to best work with you. I was wowed by the pictures when I received them. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically I charge $300 for one look with just me behind the camera, with 1 hour of studio time included. Each additional look is $200 with an additional hour of studio time. Should a wardrobe, hair and makeup team be needed, it will be at an additional cost at the artist's rate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to chat with new customers regarding what they want and put together a moodboard. From there, we can talk about rates and work out something they’re comfortable with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My skills are all self-taught but I’ve garnered 10 years of experience behind the camera with work to show for it.
