FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It really depends on the project because some jobs require much less pre-production. If it’s something like BTS, then I make sure I know exactly what they plan to do with the footage, and that informs how I shoot and if I need to capture photos as well, etc. If it’s something like a pilot, we’ll talk through what they want, I’ll make the schedule, I’ll make a shot list, send it over for approval, and make sure they have everything for a smooth and successful shoot.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At Hunter College I minored in film, and since then I’ve taken many online classes in cinematography, lighting, sound, editing with premiere pro on Udemy and Coursera.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In my mid-twenties I was working in luxury fashion, but it honestly didn’t bring me joy. So while I was working I took acting and improv classes, then I quit my job and moved to LA to get into entertainment. After being in front of the camera, I realized I really wanted to create my own stuff, so that’s what got me into videography and editing. It turns out I love filming so much that I’m excited every time I go to a new set—to capture footage that impresses the client, to try new stuff, to problem solve—it’s a dream!
