Sugar dust has done three birthday cakes for my family and we keep coming back. Very high level of professionalism but more importantly gorgeous cakes that taste unbelievable. Sugar dust cakes are a totally other level of cake - you won't ever want to go back to "regular" cakes again!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Cakes start at $4.00 a slice for cake and buttercream, non chocolate. Pastry cream or fruit filling, or chocolate are additionally priced. I only use organic, fair trade chocolate so that cost is higher. Wedding cakes start at $5.00 a slice. Cupcakes start at 2.50-3.50 accordingly, and sugar cookies really depend on the size and number in the order.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm constantly reading magazines/cookbooks for tips and tricks and new tools.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I baked a cake for my son's first birthday: a flat baseball. Easy, right? Except it sunk in the middle and I used cream cheese frosting which doesn't decorate well. I kept thinking "I can do this" and I kept making my kids' birthday cakes. Years later when I was pregnant with my 3rd child I was nesting and baked so much I had to give away muffins, coffee cakes, tarts and pies. That's when people asked me to make their cakes, and the seed of Sugardust Bakery was born.
