Introduction
Private Acting Coaching and Mentoring with a Professional Actor Take your acting to the next level and start working in a fraction of the time with private acting coaching. I’m a professional working actor with a ton of legit credits and on set experience as well as having taught classes with around 15 people for many years. I love helping artists develop the tools that fast track them in their craft enabling them to become super empowered self sufficient as quickly as we can. My work is based on method but how I work takes all of the bad icky stuff out of acting and makes it fun all while becoming a kick ass actor. I say to my students Never become an actor, be a human being. And thats why my students excel. Because they aren’t on a proving ground they are in a playground. I love seeing the potential in my acting clients and then watching it manifest from potential to reality. In a nurturing and safe environment with healthy ways of working and creating, I support and guide my clients away from unhealthy actor habits and towards empowered self-sufficiency and creative mastery. I love working both one on one with actors as well as in my group classes. They each have their unique benefits. One on one, I can work on job specific projects whether it's preparing for a TV or Film Opportunity preparing to film on set. It's thrilling to see my clients work up on the screen! In my group classes, each actor gets custom tailored attention just like in one on one sessions, but they also get the added benefit of learning from what other actors are learning and in this way they can often times grow faster. Sometimes it's easier for people to learn the lessons from watching others learn and grow, just in the same way, we learn for seeing others learn and grow in life. Human beings don't exist solely in a vacuum, and a group environment also hones one's professionalism for being on set with other people who are in varying levels of their career and work.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

CAROLYN STOTESBERY-LEVENS moved to Los Angeles and after only two weeks, she was cast in MTV’s “Undressed.” As an actor, Carolyn has appeared in major studio movies and television shows, among them the role of Sarah in the Beach Boys biopic, “LOVE & MERCY” (Lionsgate), Eli Morrison in the film, “GREY LADY”(Lionsgate/Starz) and a recurring role in the action drama “AGENT X,” (TNT) starring Sharon Stone. She has also starred in “CASTLE” (ABC), “GLORY DAZE” (TBS), “COLD CASE” (CBS), ‘CRACKING UP (FOX), as well as films like The Farrelly Brothers’ “STUCK ON YOU” (FOX), Emilio Estevez’s “BOBBY”, and many more. Carolyn's experience on set makes her private acting coaching tailored for actors looking to fast track their career from the sidelines straight to the TV set or film location.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

PRIVATE ACTING COACHING BACKGROUND Having studied with a dozen of the “top” acting teachers in Los Angeles . I've seen it all, and I know what works and what doesn’t. No one wants to their waste time. After searching for the best acting coach, I finally worked privately for 10 years with a teacher who had the answers I had been looking for and taught me how to actually develop myself and deliver the goods. Then one day my mentor asked if I would I teach private acting coaching, so of course, I jumped at the opportunity. I taught for over a year and now have decided to continue giving actors the tools that will help free them and make their work fun, exciting, and most of all empowering instead of a painful confusing nightmare.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

A lot of acting teachers “break artists down” in order to supposedly help them grow. This is an antiquated way of teaching and we now know it’s not healthy for the artist. The way I work encourages and builds artists up by giving them the clarity of how to do what they are being asked to do and the tools and practices that will support them in becoming a strong captivating actor.
