- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
generally, on residential architectural only projects, we charge on a cost plus basis. as a rule of thumb, the fees work out to be from 10% to 20% of the entire project budget. generally, the design consultants are budgeted 1/3 of the fee while the architect assumes 2/3 of the fee. on a residential design-build project, we charge on a cost plus basis for design and construction. there is significant savings on project when we provide both the design + construction aspects. you can expect to pay from 4% to 15% of construction cost for architectural fees and from 18% to 25% of construction cost for the construction portion of the project, depending on the project parameters. what that means is that you should expect to pay spire architecture from 22% to 40% of your construction budget for both architectural and construction services.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
were start by listening. listening to what a client wants to accomplish is very important. taking a clients space, budget and schedule goals and developing a personal plan of attack for there particular project to be successful is how we like to start a project. next we tend to analyze the existing conditions and possibilities and create imagery that captures that information in an understandable way. next we educate, expose and play with the possibilities for the particulars of the project. the collaborative nature of our process encourages discovering what is possible and then adjusting the elements of the project to meet the specific goals. once we have a solid design we are in constant refinement mode until the project is completed and occupied.

we tend to work for inspired people who are dedicated to design and creating cool environments. we have over 30 years of experience design and building places where people live, work, and play. we have very good communication skills which allow us to work in various capacities, in a multitude of industries with success on small, medium and large projects.
