Ellie tutored my daughter Jessica for several months for the writing and reading sections of the SAT. Jessica learned grammar and vocabulary that she had not been taught in high school and she learned speed reading with greater comprehension. As a bonus, Jessica felt her newly learned writing skills carried over to better grades in High School classes and improved her college application essays. Jessica really appreciated the opportunity to work with Ellie to gain the confidence to perform well on the SAT. As a result, Jessica earned a very high score on the SAT and was accepted to the University of California in San Diego. I highly recommend Ellie as a tutor for the SAT.

Ellie Schamber mentored me through my graduate prerequisite courses in Psychology as well as my Ph.D. dissertation. She also edited many of my papers and the dissertation. Ellie is a very good writer, and she did an excellent job of both guiding me and editing the manuscript. The dissertation was approved and praised by the academic dean for its writing as well as the content. We are now collaborating on a book, and I am very pleased with her ability to understand abstract ideas and articulate them clearly. When Ellie Schamber tutored my son before he took the PSAT, he got the highest score in his high school, became a National Merit Scholar, and was offered all kinds of scholarships. Getting a good score on the PSAT is almost more important than the SAT. She also spent several hours with him before he took the SAT - he received a Regent's Scholarship to UC and graduated with high honors. Ellie tailors her tutoring to the student's individual needs and she is extremely effective. I highly and unequivocally recommend her.
